ProduKey v1.06 – Recover your Microsoft Windows or Office Product CD Key

Posted in Fun Stuff, Utilities, Windows

Produkey

You thought you will never going to need it. However, when you lost it and require it, you cannot find it. Anyway, I am referring to the Product Key that comes with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office when you first purchased the softwares. So, while turning the house upside down searching for the 20-plus serial numbers and letters, alternatively you can try ProduKey which recovers your Product CD Key instantly.

ProduKey is a small utility that displays the ProductID and the CD-Key of Microsoft Office application, Windows operating system, Exchange Server, and SQL Server installed on your computer.

2007 Microsoft Office System Beta 2

Posted in Business Software, Development Software, Site News, Software Companies, Windows

Office 2007

Yes, if you look carefully at the naming, I find it strange myself too. It is called 2007 Microsoft Office Systems Beta 2, with the year 2007 in front. However, with all due respect, Microsoft has announced publicly that the long awaiting beta version of Microsoft Office 2007 is available to be downloaded for trial.

Microsoft perceives 2007 Microsoft Office system to take over its predecessor, Microsoft Office 2003 early next year when it is rumoured to be launched publicly at the same time with Windows Vista, the next generation Windows operating system.

PanoramaStudio 1.3

Posted in Fun Stuff, Graphics, Utilities, Windows

PanoramaStudio

Enjoy taking lots of photographs? Do you like to have pictures that reveal a 360 degree image of the pictures? Some users may try to use image editing softwares to try and create a panorama view of the pictures, such as Photoshop. However, such softwares are not specialised in doing these works. If you are into panoramic pictures, then you should give a try on PanoramaStudio.

PanoramaStudio creates seamless 360 degree and wide angle panoramas from sets of photos, offering automatic stitching, enhancing and blending of the images. Thus, users do not need to undergo the pain of merging pictures themselves.

PanoramaStudio can also detect lens correction and focal length. The Exif data of the images will also be processed. Therefore more than 600 digital cameras are already stored in the internal database.

ICQ 5.1 Build 2575

Posted in Fun Stuff, Web Apps, Windows

ICQ

Besides MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger, the ICQ has been around more than a decade, and I considered ICQ to be one of the most popular Internet Messaging client ever since it was out in the public.

Unlike MSN messenger and Yahoo messenger which defines users by email address and a Yahoo user id, each ICQ user is given a number instead, to uniquely identify itself on the ICQ network. I’m not quite sure what’s the number length now for a new registered user, but mine was basically 7 digits long when I first registered, and the last person I know has a 9-digit identification number.

Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Dapper Flight 8

Posted in Development Software, Linux, Site News

Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a really funny Linux distribution, in my opinion. For the past several months, Ubuntu Dapper Drake has 6 Alpha and 2 Beta releases, i.e. Flight 1 – 6 and Beta 1 & 2. Now, just published over the website, Ubuntu 6.06 is going to backward to Alpha version, Ubuntu Dapper LTS (Long Term Support) Flight 8!

The documentation is currently not available for Flight 8 but the release is already available. More information is available here.

CD Image Source: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/dapper/flight-8/

Note that this is still in developement stage, and it is advised that users do not install it into production machines.

This is reported to be in the final stage of the development, hence the final stable version will be released in June of 2006.
