ADOBE has released the latest version of its Flash Player which incorporates support for ActionScript 3 and Flex 2. This new flash player 9 is designed to have two Virtual Machines, one of which to play old content and the other specifically for new Flash 9 AS3 based content.

According to Adobe, the new virtual machine is significantly faster, supports full runtime error reporting, and industry-standard debugging. It also includes binary socket support, allowing developers to extend the player to work with any binary protocol.

The latest development version of Mandriva Linux 2007 has released its ISO images for public to download and test. Previously, only Mandriva One live CD images for i586 and x86_64 architectures were available. However, users can expect the usual 4-CD installation set to release over the Mandriva mirrors in a couple of days.

This new release includes Linux kernel 2.6.16.20, as well as glibc 2.4, X.Org 7.1, KDE 3.5.3, GNOME 2.15, OpenOffice.org 2.0.2, Firefox 1.5.0.4 and many other open source software packages. The complete list of the change log is located here.

Derived from the main Ubuntu distribution, nUbuntu is developed to create a distribution with added packages that are related to security testing. Unnecessary packages, such as Gnome, OpenOffice.org and Evolution are not included.

With the growing popularity of BitTorrent, the name is becoming more common with people around us. Here, I would assume you have some knowledge of BitTorrent. Some of the common BitTorrent clients include Azureus, BitComet and BitTornado. However, this one application that I am going to introduce here is extremely small in size, efficient and highly effective – uTorrent 1.6 Release Candidate 1.

uTorrent 1.6 RC 1 is build 467, and it is only about 170kB in file size for stand alone installation. This freeware is available for download at uTorrent.
