Super Mario War 1.7

Posted in Fun Stuff, Linux, Mac OS, Site News, Windows

Super Mario War

Remember the popular Nintendo Game, Super Mario? Well, this is probably one of the best posts that I will be making here, introducing the infamous Super Mario War 1.7. I believe there is any need to introduce more about Super Mario.

Basically, Super Mario War is simply a Super Mario multi-player game. Instead of going through stages and levels, the aim is to stomp as many other Marios as possible, in order to win the game. The interface used by the game is a very simple artwork taken from the Nintendo games. The sound is also from them as well.

For the developer of Super Mario War, it is a tribute to Nintendo as well as the game Mario War created by Samuele Poletto. There is also a forum set up for discussion.

SecretWeb 5.1a – Maintain Privacy While Surfing

Posted in Fun Stuff, Site News, Software Companies, Web Apps, Windows

How would you like to keep out nosy people who are trying to trace what you are doing or browsing while online? Then, SecretWeb is probably one of the essential tools that you will need to maintain your secrecy.

SecretWeb 5.1a is a tool that allows you to secretly navigate over the web, in a way when you are surfing some particular websites, your desktop screen remains clear from browsing tools. A combination of keys (known as Secret keys or Hot keys) when pressed allows your web browser to disappear instantly from the screen, and not even on your taskbar.

It is particularly useful when someone important walks into the room, and you have no time to shut down your browser, or navigate away. An instant activation of this combination of key strokes just might save your day. When disappeared, another combination of keys will bring the browser back again. It also has an embedded RSS reader and a FTP client built-in on the application.

To know how useful this can be, use it for free!

New-Ext 0.8 – Create Windows Folder

Posted in Site News, Utilities, Windows

New-Ext 0.8 is a Windows utility that allows user to create directory instantly. For instance, if you create a new folders, it will follow the template provided by the application, such as it follows the date string like “27.jun.2006″.

This is particularly useful when users tend to create lots of new folders and forget which one is which. Instead of “New Folder (1)” or “New Folder (53)”, this systematic way of managing new folders is certainly very helpful.

New-ext extends Windows Explorer context menu with a number of commands that create a directory based on a template you configure. The new folder name is based on the template string and current date.

Zina 1.0 RC 1 – MP3 Streamer

Posted in Development Software, Fun Stuff, Linux, Site News, Utilities, Web Apps

Don’t be mistaken. Zina 1.0 RC 1 is not an MP3 player nor a jukebox that runs from your computer. Instead, it is a graphical interface engine that adds to your MP3 collection that can run on its own, embedded into an existing website.

Furthermore, if you run a CMS site such as Postnuke, PHPNuke, Xoops, Mambo, Drupal or e107, it has module for Zina to be plug onto the site. Think of it as Andromeda, it is similiar to that, except it is released under the GNU GPL.

CPU Load 1.0 – Yahoo! Widget

Posted in Fun Stuff, Mac OS, Site News, Utilities, Windows

CPU Load - Yahoo! Widget

I believe most of you will understand straightaway what this application does. The CPU Load is a Yahoo! Widget that displays the current load of your computer’s CPU utilization. Since it is only at version 1.0, more improvement may be required.

Some feedbacks have suggested that the reading hard to see, but that may become more legible when the CPU load becomes 100%. Nonetheless, it is a nice simple application to let you check your CPU load if your system is running heavily.

The latest release version is supposed to be 2.0, which can be downloaded from the link below.
