Gizmo, like Skype, is an Internet Telephony software. Just like a messenger, it is available for download. Gizmo users can call each other for free as well.

Gizmo Project makes use of the internet broadband connection to allow users make phone calls to other computers. In addition, it also has Call Out add-ons which allows users to make inexpensive calls to landlines and mobiles.

Furthermore, with Call In plugin subscription, users can also receive incoming calls made from landlines and mobiles, just like you would answer a normal phone. Users can own a UK or US number for $3 a month. Well, it is very similar to Skype, except Gizmo is more US-oriented.
