Pixel Image Editor - Photoshop and GIMP alternatives
Posted in Graphics, Linux, Mac OS, Utilities, Windows
A new Photoshop alternative. No, it is not GIMP. Instead, it is the Pixel Image Editor. Pixel eitor is a RGB, CMYK and HDR image editing, photo retouching and manipulating program.
It is available for many operating systems formerly known as Pixel32.
Supported Operating Systems
- Windows,
- Linux,
- Linspire,
- MacOSX,
- BeOS,
- Zeta,
- QNX,
- MorphOS,
- FreeBSD,
- eComStation,
- OS/2,
- SkyOS and
- old plain DOS, for both x86 and PowerPC architectures.
Well, you may not expect this, but Pixel is not a free software. If you like it and want to support its development, you may consider purchasing a license for it, which includes unlimited support. By purchasing now you can get it for $32 including all updates until next major release (2.0) and for all supported platforms.
Some of the screenshots are shown here.
Trial downloads are available for 30 days. However, there are limitations in the demo version. First, there is a visible watermark in all images edited, and secondly, there is a small dialog that informs you about purchasing Pixel.
