DiggUpdate 2.5

Posted in Mac OS, Web Apps

Following my previous post on DiggUpdate almost 3 months ago, OpenSoftDevelopment has released the latest version, DiggUpdate 2.5.

I am very sure most of you will know what Digg is. Basically, digg is a technology news website that employs non-hierarchical editorial control. Digg users will submit stories for review. However, instead of allowing an editor to decide which stories go on the homepage, the users make the selection.

DiggUpdate 2.5 allows you to keep up with the latest news from Digg. The same way that RSS works, DiggUpdate will instantly inform you of new Digg stories that hit the front page.

A window will appear from the menu-bar once a new item is dugg. If multiple stories are found at the same time, DiggUpdate will compile the stories into one window, thus reducing clutter.

The software requires users to run Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and above. Distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL), the source code can be downloaded here.

DiggUpdate 2.5 is available here for download.
