Gizmo Project

For the past many years, Skype has monopolised the telephony industry and market by offering cheap phone calls to several destinations all around the world. It was not long ago before Skype was acquired by eBay following a million dollars take-over. However, even cheap calls to several destinations may not necessarily last for long, with some VoIP companies (and services) offering FREE calls to landlines and mobiles, such as VoIPstunt.

Should there be any concern if VoIPStunt is meant only for Windows, you’ll be glad that there is another service, known as the Gizmo Project, which provides free calls on your Windows, Mac OS X as well as Linux system.

The Gizmo Project is basically an Internet Telephone service, that works the same way like Skype does. The software itself is free, and Gizmo users can call each other over the Internet for free. In addition, there is also free voicemail service (when user is not available) and conference calls, when necessary. The quality of the call is no doubt crystal clear (but very much dependent on your Internet speed connection). If you are wondering what makes it attractive, is its inexpensive add-ons which allow users to receive calls from any mobile or landline! This, in fact, turns your computer into a telephone exchange.

Curently, there are 60 countries which users can dial free calls to. More information is listed below:

  • Canada
  • China
  • Cyprus
