WinRAR 3.60 Beta 7

Posted in Linux, Mac OS, Utilities, Windows

Following my last post on WinRAR 3.60 Beta 2, I have not updated anything from RAR Lab until recently. RAR Lab has just released a new beta version of WinRAR 3.60 Beta 7. As mentioned before, this is a highly recommended compression utility, even I will claim that it is much better than WinZip.

WinRAR 3.60 Beta 7 is the latest release by Alexander Roshal. WinRAR is a powerful archive manager, which allow users to perform backups and reducing file size and email attachments. It supports compression of RAR and ZIP formats. However, it supports decompression of several other compressed file formats, such as ISO, TAR, CAB, BZ2, ARJ, LZH, ACE, 7-Zip, GZip, UUE, JAR and Z, on top of ZIP and RAR.

WinRAR is also available in several languages, including English, Hebrew, Portuguese, Bulgarian, Brazilian Portuguese, Polish, Croatian, Serbian Latin, Serbian Cyrillic, Romanian, Norwegian, Bosnian, Korean, Traditional Chinese, Lithuanian, Slovenian, Greek, Japanese, Swedish.

Latest Change Log in Version 3.60 beta 7:

  1. Stack overflow vulnerability has been corrected in WinRAR module processing LZH archives.

As WinRAR is a shareware, any user may try it over a test period of 40 days. Following after this duration, you must register to use. WinRAR is free to download for trial before you buy. The latest version of WinRAR 3.60 Beta 7 is available for download here.

My strongest recommendation is that you try this out. It’s a beautiful utility tool to have.
