Xtorrent Public Beta 2 (Build 18)

Posted in Mac OS, Site News, Utilities, Web Apps

Xtorrent Public Beta 2 is the latest bittorrent client for Macintosh users that brings a friendly and powerful interface to BitTorrent users. It is now available for download and testing. The major change in Beta 2 is the overhaul of the downloads pane. The only visible manifestation of this right now is that the folder structure of downloading torrents can now be browsed, much like in the search pane. The purpose of this design is to facilitate future integration work between the search pane, downloads pane and RSS modules (which has yet to be released).

Xtorrent has their own Xtorrent blog site that allow users to discuss about the application and torrent-related stuffs.

While bittorrent is the latest P2P (peer-to-peer) communication using advanced technology with de-centralised servers, holding the files, it allows downloads provided one serves to provide bandwidth for uploads for other users, who are also downloading the same file. More information about BitTorrent can be found at the BitTorrent website.

The basic requirement to run Xtorrent Beta 2 is at least a Mac OS X machine.

Xtorrent Public Beta 2 can be download today.
