JDisk Report

WinDirStat is a disk usage statistics viewer and cleanup tool for Microsoft Windows (all current variants). This is a free, open-source utility that displays your disk usage in a colour-coded map. The map indicates the file types and folders that take up the most space on the hard disk drive.

  • * The directory list, which resembles the tree view of the Windows Explorer but is sorted by file/subtree size,
  • * The treemap, which shows the whole contents of the directory tree straight away,
  • * The extension list, which serves as a legend and shows statistics about the file types.

This application provides users with an easy way to identify the largest space that hogs on the hard disk. The utility actually shows a three-paned view; mainly tree view, list view and a treemap view. By selecting a folder in the folder tree, the area on the treemap is highlighted for easy visual reference of what’s taking up what kind of space.
