GMail Increases Attachment Size to 20MB

Posted in Site News, Software Companies, Web Apps

GMail Logo

According to Google Operating System Blogspot, the popular web-based email system, GMail, has now doubled their maximum attachment size from 10MB to 20MB.

So, from today onwards, GMail users are not able to send emails with attachments up to 20MB in size within one message. Although some other few mail providers may not support attachment size greater than 10MB, but if you are sending to accounts, e.g. Yahoo Mail Plus or other premium accounts, it is quite useful.

Great news, isn’t it?

Twitter – where chatting meets blogging

Posted in Fun Stuff, Site News, Software Companies, Web Apps

Twitter is not a software, but rather it is more like a chatting application that is used in blogging form. Thanks to the information by Alexia, I got to learn about this nice little web-based application.

Somewhat similar to social networking sites, Twitter is a global community of friends and strangers that allows users to communicate with each other, and also to know what you might be doing at the moment.

Your personal agenda can be made private or public. Furthermore, it is integrable onto any sites that you have.

Signing up is free, so why wait? More information can also be found on their Twitter Blog site.

WiFi-Manager 2.3

Posted in Development Software, Site News, Software Companies, Utilities, Windows

Managing WiFi connections and settings are now easier with WiFi-Manager 2.3, an application developed by NicomSoft. This is particularly useful for developers who are programming software for Windows applications, e.g. Windows XP and Windows Vista. Despite that both platforms can manage WiFi settings, but they actually use different APIs for wireless network management.

Windows XP SP2
– uses the “Wireless Zero Configuration” (WZC) API. This API is almost undocumented and there aren’t any examples how to use it, although this API can perform all necessary operations with WiFi connections and Windows XP SP2 is the most popular version of Windows at present.

Windows Vista
– uses the “Native WiFi” API. This is a new API that allows you to manage WiFi networks, this API is simpler and more documented, although there is only one example how to use it. You can find this example for the C++ language in the Vista SDK.

Apefly Web Page Generator 1.0

Posted in Development Software, Fun Stuff, Site News, Utilities, Web Apps, Windows

It should be quite apparent that what I am going to introduce here is a web page generator, known as Apefly. Furthermore, it has the ability to provide an educational approach for students who are picking up web design.

Initially, Apefly began as an Online/JavaScript based web page generator. It was further enhanced to develop into simple web page generator to create clean and valid XHTML/CSS web pages. Thus, these are the following functions:
