Is your Powerbook or iBook getting too hot? Then, you will definitely need G4FanControl 0.5, a utility that allows user to control the cooling fan system within the iBook or PowerBook laptop.

This application can be configured according to user’s preference at which temperature should the fan be powered up. The default temperature limit will be reset by Mac OS X in the event of system reboot.

In this latest version of 0.5, a Graphical User Interface (GUI), is being implemented. Check out the application from the site today. You definitely won’t want to get your Macintosh laptop fried by high temperature.

This application is a general Windows tool for dumping information about the Windows OS software, Network and hardware details.

OpenOffice.org is known to be a free alternative for Microsoft Office suite, as the latter is not available for free. Initially, OpenOffice.org runs only on Windows and Linux operating systems. Macintosh users will be pleased to know that a Mac OS X version is now available - but only as a development release.

Known as OpenOffice.org Aqua, this application requires Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) to run. However, it is important to note that the software may still encounter crash and could potentially cause loss of data. Therefore, it is advised not to install this on production machines.

Democracy Player seems to be capturing a lot of attention from the public. My last post on Democracy Player was probably a few months ago, but the latest version of Democracy Player 0.9.6 is already released.

Nicholas Reville claimed that this version contains huge update, with a lot of new features, bug fixes and improvement. In addition, it will also be the last version ever of Democracy Player, as the next release will be under the new name, Miro.
