One of the highly regarded CMS software, Drupal, has release the next version of Drupal 5.0 RC 2. There are couple of new changes in this version since the last RC 1 release.

Most (if not all) of the issues have been fixed, and this release candidate is released for users who are interested to help test out the stability, correctness and performance of the software. The developers are hopeful of ironing out all remaining issues and release the final version soon.

Again, no critical bug should be expected, thereby making this release worthy of known. Several new features, including a web-based install system, improved administration tools, and a totally shiny new theme, are included in this release.

Drupal is an open source content management software, equipped with a powerful blend of features. Supporting a large variety of ranging from personal weblogs to podcast sites and community driven sites, Drupal has also been used to serve large media sites.

Underneath this latest version 5 of Drupal includes lots of improvements, such as the inclusion of jQuery Javascript Library, node access system improvement (ACL), Form API improvement, and even more.

It is still not recommended to run release candidate version on production sites, but Drupal.org have already it running on their very own site.
