Now, home users can gain instant access to information on upcoming TV programs directly from the desktop. OnTV 2.4.0 is a GNOME Applet written in Python using PyGTK, it uses XMLTV files to monitor current and upcoming TV programs. Some of the features include:

Features

  • * Program descriptions as tooltips.
  • * Remaining time of/until current and upcoming programs.
  • * Program search dialog with incremental search.
  • * Global keybindings for most common actions.
  • * Program reminders.

To run the application your system will need to satisfy the following requirement.

Requirement

  • * GTK+ >= 2.10.0
  • * PyGTK >= 2.10.0
  • * PyGObject >= 2.12.0
  • * GNOME-Python >= 2.16.0
  • * GNOME-Python-Extras >= 2.14.2
  • * Notify-Python >= 0.1.1
  • * Python-cElementTree >= 1.0.5
