WordPress 2.6.1 Now Released

WordPress 2.6.1 was released just a couple of minutes ago. In the past, I would always mention “… users are advised to upgrade to the latest version…“, well not this time. According to Ryan, users need not upgrade to the latest version of 2.6.1 if version 2.6 is working fine for you.
The release of this sub-version is simply to continue the trend of releasing a maintenance release shortly after a major release, to get fixes for the bugs that might be present in the official release.
Nonetheless, WordPress 2.6.1 offers several improvements for international users, such as styling for admin for right-to-left languages and fixing mysterious gettext bug. In addition, there is also a fix for a performance bug in the admin panel where those users with several plugins might experience slowness on page loads.
