gOS 3.1 Gadgets (SP1)

Today, we have several version of Linux distributions, ranging from Ubuntu and openSUSE to Debian and Red Hat. However, how can we possibly miss out one of the biggest release by Google, the giant Internet search engine, most impressive release to-date that incorporates the popular Google gadgets into the picture, that is the gOS 3.1 Gadgets.

This application launches the Google Gadgets for Linux on startup, incorporating several Google gadgets to the desktop. There are over 100,000 possible iGoogle and gadgets that can be chosen and selected to be part of your desktop interface.

The application, gOS 3.1 Gadgets, is based on the solid Linux distribution base of Ubuntu 8.04.1, thereby bringing users one of the most stable system, with up-to-date Linux packages. Furthermore, this operating system is designed to be used with NetBooks and have been known to be shipped inside these systems in the United States and several other countries.

    If I understood it correctly, the developers of gOS (Gadgets, Space,…) are have nothing to do with Google Inc. Although gOS Gadgets is mainly focused on Google products (and Space on Myspace), this is still important.

    The quote gives a different impression which is misleading.

    But I could be wrong ;)

    Actually, you are quite right about it. Both entities are separate, gOS has nothing to do with Google Inc. Thanks for the correction :)
