Ryan Boren’s email has revealed that WordPress 2.7.1 RC 1 is made available to the public. This was announced earlier than expected, as the release is still not announced formally at the main page of WordPress. Based on the information, the following issues have been fixed:
- * URL column in Edit Links removes www. from domains that end in www
- * Theme preview fails when theme in subdirectory
- * “Draft Saved” current_time not reflecting timezone setting in the edit area
- * Revisions do not respect time zone offset
- * Canonical redirect of feed URLs with suffixes is wrong
- * index.php file in the plugins folder makes the Dashboard fail
In spite of this, WordPress users are still unable to utilise the Upgrade functionality on the WordPress software to automatically upgrade to this release candidate version. However, it isn’t too bad either, to just wait a couple more days for the final (stable) version to be available.
However, if you still bend on getting your hands onto the latest release, you can download from the link below. Just note that, it is important to avoid deploying on production machines.
